About Prince Kitty Co

Hi there! I’m Angelica Gehlich(she/they), LCSW. I’m a therapist in Richmond, VA! I’m queer and proud! I support decolonizing therapy and all mental and physical health services and the ways we think about them. I support anti-capitalism, sharing, and rest.

I have always felt passionate about anti-capitalist community engagement and development and since I live in Richmond, VA, what better place to jump in! Initially, I wanted to start a non-profit to create a community center that felt safe and affirming for all to enjoy while accessing knowledge, resources, support, and health and hygiene products (clothes, hygiene necessities, grooming products, etc) to live life authentically and proudly. The great thing about Richmond is that there are already tons of nonprofits and organizations that offer these goods and services so instead of create something else, I want to bring all that is already present together and create a communal platform to collaborate and build a stronger connection. After all, we work better together and if we see everything we accomplish alongside one another, we can determine the areas of need that are not yet being met!

My plan is to connect community and organizations/businesses/creators providing queer-affirming/gender-affirming services or products in any aspect (salons, body care, movement, gyms, clothing, housing, medical, etc.) to connect deeper with one another, see resources that we may not realize are already present, and to identify any gaps in the resources. I also believe it is more beneficial to know who we are referring our friends and community to rather than just knowing each other by our titles. We know that not everywhere that claims to be queer affirming is safe or empowering and we shouldn’t have to regulate our anxiety before walking into a new place in hopes we don’t have to mask or live in a way that is anything but our own.

The goals of connection will be to establish a collective of these organizations/creators to collaborate with one another to fill all the gaps- inclusively and with full accessibility for all. We are all unique and bring our own strengths and weirdnesses to this place we live. I’m a huge advocate for mental health, genuine connection, and sharing the wealth of knowledge- so I have hopes that people take full and fair advantage of the exchange of goods and services in a way that fits them best (without having to dip into health insurance complications or credit limits or the capitalist hellscape).

Q-CECI (the collective portion) is now a subsidiary of Virginia Organizing!! Q-CECI operates under a Joint Plan of Work with Virginia Organizing, which is a 501(c)3 and accepts tax-deductible financial contributions on their behalf. This means that Q-CECI now can operate under VO’s 501c3 status and promote queer resources and safety in the local community and establish grants, partnerships, and funding for programs

The Queer Affirming Community Engagement and Collaboration Initiative (Q-CECI) is a collective located remotely within Richmond, VA focused on creating a vibrant and inclusive network of organizations and service providers focused on mental health support, queer-affirming/gender-affirming goods and services, and community resources. Our mission is to foster collaboration, amplify queer voices, and improve the quality of interconnectedness within the LGBTQIA+ community within Richmond, VA and all around Virginia. The vision is to unite organizations, bridge resource gaps, and promote inclusivity through community developed gatherings and training through non-capitalist forms of exchange/service.

Prince Kitty Co, LLC is a stand-alone company that is not a part of this joint plan of work. Prince Kitty Co, LLC supports Q-CECI as a collective as one of its initiatives. PK will provide services and PK Meow Merch on its own accord. PK will accept donations that will be used towards community healing and needs aligned with collaborative decisions based from Q-CECI collective meetings.

Why Prince Kitty? Because I’m about the fluidity of gender, sexuality, identity, and life and I think it’s a fun play with ideas of masculinity, femininity, and everything around and in-between!

And what a cute logo it makes!

Anddd if you know me, you know that I love to promote tons of sensory style resources to give us all a fair chance at living, so in addition to our local services that make life livable, check out some virtual resources in my virtual self-care space! It is a web based power point so just about everything should be interactive and user friendly! See why I am a therapist and not a web designer. :D www.tinyurl.com/AngelicasSelfCareSpace
